COSTIERES DE NIMES

Hauts de Bonpas

Origins of the cuvée

Located near Avignon, at the heart of the Rhone Valley, the fortified stronghold of Bonpas, from the French “Bon passage”, has watched over the safe crossing of the Durance River along the historic route that once linked Rome with Avignon. The estate marks the gateway to the southern Côtes-du-Rhône appellations and opens its gates to the discovery of the region’s terroirs. Its sophisticated, elegant wines embody the terroirs and varietals of this famous region through their power and fruitiness.

Localisation

The Costières plateau, between Nîmes and the Camargue region in Southern France.

Grape varietals

Grenache, Syrah and Carignan.

Vinification and maturing

Visual: intense garnet in colour.
Nose: lovely notes of fresh red fruit, opening up to aromas of liquorice.
Palate: Soft and full-bodied from the start, with flavours reminiscent of red fruit and mild spices. The velvety tannins support the rich, unctuous aromatic palette of this wine.

This wine goes perfectly with stewed or grilled meats and blue cheeses such as Roquefort. It needs a temperature of service around 15°C.
