80-year-Old Vines
DEEP ROOTS. TIMELESS CHARACTER.
Over the decades, Grenache vines develop deep root systems (up to 4-5 meters) capturing rare minerals and moisture, even in dry conditions, enhancing both tannin quality and aromatic complexity.
CRAFTED BY NATURE, REFINED BY TIME.
Naturally less productive, old vines are characterized by richly concentrated grapes with a higher skin-to-juice ratio, thanks to a slower sap flow. The result? Wine of depth, fullness, and remarkable ageing potential.
Grenache Noir and Carignan.
Co fermentation of grape varieties.
Immersion of the marc caps at the end of fermentation for optimal maceration of the grapes at 25°C max.
Long vinification (2 to 3 weeks) allows to develop the aromatic bouquet and roundness of the wine thanks to daily pumping over.
8 months of aging in stainless steel and concrete tanks.
Brillant ruby red.Intense yet delicate, with aromas of ripe red fruit and white pepper.
Full-bodied and rich with generous fruit, dominated by aromas of crushed strawberries. The bold character of Grenache is balanced by the ripe red fruit of the Carignan, along with its natural acidity and hints of white pepper. The finish is complex, with fine-grained tannins and sweet spice aromas.
Open one hour before serving between 13-15°C with stew meat dishes or a grilled entrecote.
The Côtes-du-Rhône vineyards flourish along the Rhône River, rooted in richly diverse terroirs first cultivated by the Romans in 125 BC.
Thanks to our long-standing partner, we can offer this Côtes-du-Rhône from 80-year-old vines pruned in gobelets, which is quite rare. This pruning is the most favourable to Grenache and brings a ‘micro-climate’ in the vine by creating shaded and sunny areas favourable to a very good maturity of the grapes, gently and without excess heat.
These more concentrated grapes bring their own specific characteristics and those of the terroir to this cuvée ‘Hors d’Âge’.
